Beberapa minggu lalu, seperti biasa saya dan keluarga pergi membeli belah di Carrefour berdekatan dengan rumah kami. Kami sangat biasa dengan Carrefour memandangkan ia berdekatan dengan rumah, serta barang-barangnya yang murah serta senang dicari (handy & convenient). Namun, pada hari itu, saya dan suami agak kecewa dengan pemandangan di Carrefour sempena menyambut Pesta Bola Dunia 2010.
Berikut adalah salinan emel saya kepada pihak Carrefour Malaysia dan balasan daripada pihak Carrefour.
My name is Dr Muna Ahmad. I am staying in Ampang Selangor with my husband n 4 kids. We r one of Carrefour Ampang regular customers. We love shopping there as it is very near to our house (5 min) and very handy.
Yesterday, i went there with my family. As i passed along the main corridor, i notice that the hallway is a bit crowded than usual due to the World Cup promotion items. However, my husband and i was shocked looking at certain items that were not supposed to be located along the main hallway. We were frustrated with the insensitivity as my kids were pointing at cans of Tiger beers that being arranged nicely at the centre of the hallway. My kids were asking, what are these new drinks? Not just as muslim, but as a Malaysian, i am having problem in explaining that to my small kids. As i think we shouldn’t show bad examples to our kids. What Carrefour is trying to imply? Is World Cup synoname with beers party?
And i think Carrefour should know better that liquors and alcoholic drinks should be located in a proper designated area (according to the Malaysian alcohol Act). If u go to the Jusco Maluri, they even have a proper corner/segment for the alcoholic drinks. Please, i really love shopping at Carrefour, but i cannot accept this wrong message to my family and other Malaysian.
